|  Welcome to Pakistan National Accreditation Council | The Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) has been established under the administrative control of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan as the national apex agency to accredit conformity assessment bodies such as laboratories and certification bodies. The accreditation services of PNAC were launched during the year 2001. Mission Statement PNAC strives for improvement, competence and integrity of conformity assessment bodies by providing them an internationally recognized accreditation service and also promote quality culture, which ultimately benefit the consumers, producers, regulators and other stakeholders. Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) Main Activities of PNAC · Accreditation of testing / calibration & Medical labs in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189 respectively, Accreditation of Certification Bodies like Management System Certification in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021 and accreditation of Inspection Bodies in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020. Principles and Practice The PNAC performs its activities based on the following principles: -
PNAC shall not provide assistance/consultancy services directly or indirectly related to the activities of accreditation; -
PNAC shall not discriminate against (or in favor of) any body applying for accreditation services -
PNAC shall not restrict the access of bodies and laboratories applying for accreditation by means of any undue restraining condition, particularly related to: - financial status; - size of the applicant body; - location of the body or laboratory; - number of bodies already assisted by the services offered; - prerequisites of membership or association with any entity. -
PNAC shall keep its impartiality, confidentiality and integrity during the analysis and decision-making process; -
PNAC shall keep the requirements, assessments and decisions on accreditation strictly within the limits of the scope required; -
PNAC shall consider seriously the views of the assessed organisation; -
PNAC shall interact with similar regional and international bodies, seeking for technical cooperation, interchange of experiences and the mutual recognition of the accreditation activities. -
PNAC shall promote the value of the personnel engaged in the activities of accreditation, encouraging its qualification and continuous improvement. -
PNAC shall be the sole responsible organization for decisions regarding accreditation. Engr.
